Rollins College Dining Hall Renovation

Built in 1958, Rose Skillman Hall was designed by James Gamble Rogers, II. Skillman Hall had a seating capacity of 520 in its main dining room. In addition to top-notch academics, outstanding faculty, and a beautiful campus, Rollins is recognized for serving some of the best food in the country. Emerald provided MEPFP services on this project. The renovation consisted of updating the serving line with a more modern, self-serving dining experience. In addition, this cafeteria renovation served is to revamp the space, replace one air handling unit, and provide a 100% outside air unit to positively pressurize the building to fix humidity issues. Electrically, Emerald provided design services to restructure the power infrastructure in order to feed adequate power to more than 130 pieces of the new serving line equipment. Lighting in the space was also modernized adding a warm welcoming feeling while saving energy with more energy-efficient fixtures.
