Tampa General Hospital – CEP Substation Upgrades
This infrastructure project incorporates significant modifications to the existing medium-voltage distribution at the campus. Two new unit substations provide 480V and 4.16kV distribution to serve existing pumps, cooling towers, chillers, and other accessories at the existing plant. The project also improves reliability and selectivity by establishing dedicated normal and essential medium-voltage feeders to the plant, providing coordinated primary relay protection at each substation, and removing consolidated failure points in the existing system. The design includes the first Eaton Vacuum Fault Interrupter (VFI) oil-filled transformers at TGH’s campus.
