The Edward White Campus

The St. Petersburg Housing Authority (SPHA) is leading the transformation of the former Edward White Hospital into The Edward White Campus, a vibrant, six-story affordable housing community located in the heart of the North Kenwood district in St. Pete.

The 121,000 SF adaptive reuse project includes 71 modern residences for seniors earning at or below 80% of the area median income (AMI). The unit mix includes 60 one-bedroom apartments, 7 studio units, and 4 two-bedroom residences. The total project cost is estimated at $43.8 million.

The building also serves as the new home for SPHA’s 18,000 SF administrative offices, with added community services including an Evara Health clinic, an open dining hall with catering kitchen, a resident community room, fitness center, computer lab, and bike storage.

Residents benefit from walkability to nearby businesses and amenities, including direct adjacency to Booker Creek Park, which offers serene lake views, walking trails, and recreational courts. Pedestrian-friendly design and full ADA accessibility will ensure that the campus is welcoming for all.
